Services and Literature for the Legal Profession
- Resources for the attorney. Mr. Pusey's treatise Charitable Remainder Trusts, Reference Edition is described as "the most comprehensive tax and financial
treatise on CRTs on the market" by Charitable Gift Planning News.
It is described as "the comprehensive reference source on this subject area" in Estate Planning, March
2001.
It is cited by attorneys as an invaluable tool and can be found in such prestigious libraries
as NYU School of Law.
"Can't imagine anyone working in the area not wanting it." Donald Mering, Esq., Baltimore. "Every major law firm should have," said another estate
planning attorney.
Of particular interest to attorneys will be the Tax Guidelines to IRS Model Agreements that allow the attorney to choose from 27 scenarios, each with
appropriate notes and references.
- Planning major gifts. We help the attorney
establish a reputation for sophisticated charitable planning. We provide
tax research assistance for attorneys who are generalists or specialists
in charitable planning. We are research and planning specialists providing
practical tools and reduced-rate retainer programs that combine literature
and client-specific services.
- Marketing for attorneys. By sponsoring our
literature with a local charity or in your community, the attorney
can promote his or her expertise to wealthy clients while establishing
a reputation for furthering the charitable community.
The law firm may distinguish itself with CPA's, finance professionals and institutions by making available resources that will establish relationships, educate
advisors as to when CRTs may be appropriate, and lead to other trust and estate work for the firm. Ask a CPA or trust officer if he or she would rather go to
lunch or get a book they really need, and they'll usually opt for the book over the salad bar.
- Trust administration. We provide accounting, tax returns and trust reporting, allowing the attorney the comfort of knowing the details are in the care of
specialists. We encourage attorneys to consider serving as trustee or administrator of the CRT, relying on us as your back office, a start-to-finish scope of
services that will promote long-term relationships with clients and their estates.
